If you’re buying a freehold home after July 1, 2025, you must notify Tarion within 45 days of signing your purchase agreement. Use their online tool to provide property details, deposit info, and vendor/builder info.

BIG Benefits for Buyers:
Starting January 1, 2026:
Buyers who notify Tarion will qualify for MAXIMUM DEPOSIT COVERAGE under the warranty program.
Those who don’t notify will face a separate claims process.
ALL buyers will still receive full construction warranty coverage for defects.
โ Partnerships to STOP Fraud:
Tarion is teaming up with the Home Construction Regulatory Authority (HCRA) to target illegal vendor/builder activity and keep YOU safe.
